Profile:

Michael Slater is a dashing, nimble-footed right-handed opening bat who has destroyed new ball attacks world-wide. A product of the Australian Cricket Academy, he rose quickly to Test selection following his debut for New South Wales. His opening partnership with Mark Taylor was very prolific especially in successive Ashes series in the mid-1990s. His quick-scoring style has been strangely overlooked by selectors for the national limited-over team.
